Message to Parents

Cornell University is committed to creating safe and ethical environments for minors participating in an authorized University program, camp, and activity or an authorized external entity program, camp and activity.  The Minors at Cornell Policy sets standardized screening, training, reporting, and procedure requirements for those individuals who are involved with University programs that serve children. It also calls for any individuals who have direct contact with minors through these programs to

  • complete training on mandated reporting status
  • learn the policy and guidelines for working with youth
  • undergo a criminal background and registered sex offender check

Cornell wants to work with you to keep your child safe. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s experience(s) with the Cornell, or the Minors at Cornell Policy, please let us know by:

  • speak with the University staff member who interacts most with your child
  • speak with the director of your child’s program
  • contacting the minors program administrator at
  • reporting to the proper authorities
