If you do not currently have insurance that meets the insurance requirements for private events on University property, the University has access to a special events insurance policy, that provides the required levels of coverage to use the facility and property, and also protects the individuals or organization holding the event.
The special event policy is for one-time events and is usually less expensive than purchasing a short-term policy from an insurance company. Please follow these steps to purchase the policy:
- Contact the Office of Risk Management and Insurance. Phone # 607-254-1575 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
- The Office of Risk Management and Insurance will send you an online application. Please provide details of your event in the application and email it to email@example.com or fax it to 607-254-8000.
- the Office of Risk Management and Insurance will review the application and provide you with a quote
- You purchase the insurance with a credit card. Payment is made directly to the carrier, not Cornell University
- Your event is insured!
